Come to historic McLellanville, SC

“Take what’s old and keep it young by making it part of daily life”

That’s the theme of an event coming up on Thursday, February 23, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., at The Cottage in McLellanville, SC, just 30 minutes from Charleston. I’ll talk about my book Past Present: Living with Heirlooms and Antiques and share secrets about how to bring new life to old things and use them in our daily lives. Please bring an antique item (or photo of one) to discuss in this interactive event. Refreshments (including cocktails) will be provided. For more information call The Cottage at 843-708-7744.

I don’t know of any antiques lover who is not also passionate about antique architecture, so be sure to come and spend time in this charming village where houses dating from the 18th century line the streets. You can also shop at The Cottage, directed by owner Susan Brannen, which represents  art, craft, and creative endeavors of local artists and entrepreneurs. Painters, authors, potters, wood-turners, and jewelers abide, as well as a South Carolina Shrimpers Assoc. Shop and a full room of Sassafras, McClellanville’s own boutique, now in it’s 11th year!
